Long overdue update...A lot has happened!

First of all it is so good to see Olivia cast free!!!

Next it was time to give Olivia her second haircut. But I had to get some pictures of the ponytail first. It was getting quite long but we wanted it to be a little thicker and look neater.

We had a great time at an FCC fundraiser at Monkey Joe's. Micah made a new "best friend". You know they have to be to share ice-cream!

Olivia LOVES to make paper into the smallest pieces she can with the aid of scissors.

Olivia loves to draw. When she first came home all she would do was draw lines. Those turned into circles but now she has made some real progress!
And now for her family artwork with explanations:

here she drew Micah

And here Micah drew Olivia

here Olivia added Daddy

and here she has added Mommy

Camping for her 1st and his 7th...

This last weekend we went camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains for Olivia's 1st time and for Micah's 7th birthday. We saw some really pretty things and some strange things. But we relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves.

Thank you God for all the wonders you created!

Happy 7th Birthday Micah!!!! June 20 Happiest Day of the Year!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Dearest MICAH,
Happy Birthday to you!!!

Psychologist and mathematician Cliff Arnall calculates that today, June 20th, is the happiest day of the year.

His formula, which takes into account outdoor activity, socializing, weather, and the expectation of a holiday, identifies the most depressing day of the year around the end of January.

Click here to read the article and see if you agree.

I knew this was a happy day for me but I didn't know it was "scientific fact"! I am glad you were born on the happiest day of the year!!!

We love you Buddy.

Monday 6/16/2008... A Day I Never Want To Repeat Again!

Although we had a week to prepare ... Monday was one of the hardest days of our lives and one that I hope we never have to repeat again. We had to say goodby to one of our dear doggie friends. All my life there have been pets in my home and for one reason or another I have never had to say goodby in this way. We have been married for almost 13 years and Bently had been with us for all of them. He was 15.5 years old. His health was failing and hearing and eyesight poor. Please rest easy Old Friend we will miss you.

Right after that we drove to the Shriners hospital to have Olivia's casts taken off. I cried while she screemed in terror. Once the casts were off they fitted her for a brace. Then they recasted her right leg for another 4 weeks and she will get her brace then. Right now we are working on standing and taking baby steps.
